Outlook Emails in OneNote

If I copy/move an outlook email message (with or without attachments)
to OneNote, can I safely delete the message in Outlook confident that
it is stored in OneNote? Or is the message linked to a stored copy in
Outlook?

My hope is to make OneNote my storage for project related emails.

Thanks

OneNote stores a full copy. If you want to test it, copy the email to
OneNote and then delete it in Outlook. Check that it is still there in
OneNote.

I'm curious why you'd want to delete the original message? Is mailbox size
an issue? Once the message goes to OneNote, it will lose all of its metadata
and basically become a chunk of text. It won't get indexed as an email
message (though it will as a OneNote page) and Outlook will lose all
"contact" with the message so you wouldn't be able to easily reply to it or
forward it.

Josh

Thanks

In many cases I get a new client and the emails go back and forth with
clutter. I wanted OneNote to capture emails as a section in the
project folders set up for each person. I wanted to send all related
emails and attachments to the related project folder in OneNote. I
figured once it was sent to OneNote it was duplicated information and
could be deleted in Outlook. I really need to examine your reply to
determine if my wish is smart.

Size is not the issue I simply didn't want multiple filing systems and
OneNote seemed perfect. I understand you to say that I will lose all
of my activities log in the contact section as well....correct? If so
then it may not be a smart move.
