I am getting the same error.. Outlook XP can connect with
no problems at all but outlook 2003 will not resolve the
domain name.. if you put the IP address in it will
resolve the CheckName, but it puts the Domain name in
where the IP was and then it will not re-check the name
and if you try to connect after the checkname it says the
error stated previously. Ive checked the RPC values and
they are there. Im on a windows XP pro system using
Outlook 2003 connecting to a Exchange 2003 Server.
Again, Outlook XP connects with no difficaulty at all but
Outlook 2003 will NOT connect.

Dennis said:The error is: Outlook could not logon. Check to make sure
you are connected to network and are using the proper
server and mailbox name. Network problems are preventing
connection to microsoft exchange server computer. Contact
your system administrator if this condition persists. You
can choose file->Work offline to work locally until the
server becomes available. I have checked the rpc protocol
and they are in the registry.

What is the error?
Without knowing the error message, the best I can do
guess that it might[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Rpc\ClientProtocolsbe an RPC error....
Check for the presence of these keys and add them if they are missing:
]name"ncacn_np"="rpcrt4.dll"
"ncacn_ip_tcp"="rpcrt4.dll"
"ncadg_ip_udp"="rpcrt4.dll"
"ncacn_http"="rpcrt4.dll"
