Outlook Error Message on Computer Startup

B

brynybryn

The following error shows every time the computer is started up:

"Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot
fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Office Outlook and set
it as the default mail client."

I have tried:
Running Outlook, going to Tools>Options>Other, then un-checked and
re-checked 'Make Outlook the default program for Email, Contacts, and
Calendar.'>Apply>OK
I then restarted, and the message showed again.

Also tried Ctrl+Alt+Del to view current processes running, unable to
determine what was trying to send a message to prompt this error.

Thank you for any help!

brynybryn,

Although I don't see a reply or solution to your problem, I just wanted to
add that I get the exact same error message when I start and close Outlook
2007. I just got a new Dell Computer and Microsoft Office 2007 was preloaded
on the computer. Operating System is Microsoft Vista Home Premium. I
previously used Outlook Express on my old computer and used Windows Easy
Transfer to move my email files to my new computer. I also went to my
Internet Service Provider and followed their directions for setting the
default email client, but nothing has stopped the error messages. Note that
after I close the error message, Outlook works fine, it's just annoying to
have to close this error message all the time.

Any hint, help, solution, etc. would be appreciated.

I am having the exact same problem and have posted the question on this site
twice and have not received a reply. I have also seen several others have
asked the questions without a response.

I REALLY wish someone would address this bug, the error message comes up
for me every two minutes!!!
