Outlook Error Message

When I open Outlook I get an error message and it makes no difference if I
say send report or not, Outlook closes.

The messge reads "Microsoft Outlook has encountered a
problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." That is
the error message. Would the error signature be helpful. I will say that this
usually happens when I get a corrupted email. I usually solve it by opeing
Outlook Express and deleting any non recognizable emails and reopening
Outlook. Didn't work this time.

The event viewer has the following information: "Faulting application
OUTLOOK.EXE, version 9.0.0.6604, faulting module MailMsg.ppl, version
6.0.2.621, fault address 0x00001586". I did disable my anti-virus briefly and
continued to get the same error message.

I believe mailmsg.ppl is part of Kaspersky Internet Security. Uninstall KIS
and reinstall it without any mail integration (the mail scanner). You'll be
just as protected and you don't get any side-effects of the interaction
between KIS and Outlook. Other people are reporting issues with KIS
V6.0.2.621 as well.

Thanks, I don't quite know how I fixed this but here is the order of what I
did. Upgraded Outlook, ran scanpst.exe and did repairs, went to add/remove
and updated Kaspersky and then ran repair within Kaspersky. Opened Outlook in
Safemode(prompted by Outlook) and deleted recent emails that I feel were the
initial cause of problem. Reopened Outlook and it now works fine. I had
experienced same error message after upgrading and doing repairs. It wasn't
until I went to Kaspersky and executed those fixes that the error message
didn't return. Again, don't know what exactly fixed it but it is now fixed,
and thank you.
