Outlook error message

When I first boot up my computer running Windows XP all my mail accounts work
fine, but if I log out and log back in I get this error message on one of my
e-mail accounts,

"The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'Name', Server: 'Name',
Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10061, Error
Number: 0x800CCC0E,

Nothing changed concerning the outgoing or incoming mail addresses in the
Server properties. I've used netstat -an but port 110 does not show up in the
list. Is there any kind of fix to this problem?

Thanks!

If you are running a virus scanner that integrates with Outlook disable this
integration and try again.

I closed down my Norton Internt Security 2006 and still have the problem. Any
other suggestions?

With Norton you might need to uninstall the program using their uninstall tool and then re-install it without the email integration.

As it turns out, I contacted Norton and was informed that I needed to upgrade
to Norton 2007. This did indeed remedy the situation. Thanks for all your
help.
