outlook error when opening: "mscoree.dll" not found

Gabe Jimenez

I get about 7 identical error messages as outlook is opening up? It seems to
run fine, but some aspects may not be? A search of my hard drive found a
named file under "C:\WINDOWS\system32\URTTemp" .

I have tried repairing & re-installing and error message persists! Please
help

Did you get rid of McAfee Virus Scanner at one time? That's probably it. If
so, go into Outlook's Tools, then Options, then Advanced Options, then go
into the Add-in Manager and uncheck "McAffee VirusScan Outlook Email
Scanner." Then clock Okay.

This is a Windows problem that you can correct by using Windows or Microsoft
Update to install the latest Net Framework. C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\RUNDLL32.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\system32\muweb.dll,LaunchMUSite

I have this problem, but I'm up to date with my Microsoft Updates. Any
other suggestions on how to resolve (I'm not very technical so please make
them idiot-proof!)

Thanks

Simon

Simon,
Please read the reply that I sent about getting rid of the mscoree.dll error
message problem on 9/26/05; it should be right underneath this post --- and
it works!

I tried this but I've never had McAffee, so there is no option to uncheck!
Any other suggestions welcome!

Simon,
You could try going to the same place that I mentioned for the McAffee Virus
Scanner removal: Outlook's Tools, then Options, then Other, then Advanced
Options, then COM Add-Ins. See if "Lookout" is there and, if it is, it
should have a checkmark next to it. If you look down at the gray area, you
should see:
Location: mscoree.dll and below that: Load Behavior: Load at Startup.
If the box isn't checked, check it and mscoree.dll should load the next time
you go in. Good luck!
