Outlook error when using rules: The operation failed. An object couldnot be found

We have a user that since a few weeks have problems with his rules in
Outlook.
When he wants to open "Rules and Alerts" the users get the following
error: "The operation failed. An object could not be found".

I already added a new profile in the Mail Setup(Control Panel =>
Mail) but that doesn't solve the problem.

Does anyone know how to solve the problem.

I tried the "detect and repair", uninstall Office 2003, resetting
outcmd, but that doesn't solved my problem.
I ran outlook.exe /cleanrules and the problem was solved.
The problem was started after I restored the users inbox.
