I'm running Windows NT with Outlook 2000 and I get an error when I open
Outlook. A message pops up and says "Please wait while Windows configures
Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1 Professional" and then an error pops up saying
"Error 1706. No valid source could be found for product Microsoft Office 2000
SR-1 Professional. The Windows installer cannot continue". I click OK on the
error and then the same thing happens so I click OK on the error again and
then Outlook opens and works just fine.
It was suggested that I reinstal Office. When I tried to do that, I got an
error saying "The system administrator has set policies to prevent this
installation". I am one of the system administrators but this problem with
Outlook only happens when I log on as one of the users. I changed the options
so the user has Administrative privledges but I still get this message. Is
there somewhere else to change the "policies" so I can reinstall the program
when logged on as this user (the program works fine when I'm logged on as
administrator). Or does anyone have suggestions to stop this error?
