Outlook event status

I find it amazing that Ouytlook offers four kinds of status for events (busy,
tentative etc.) but that, wehn viewing the calendar, there is no way I can
tell the status of an event. Leads to double booking of appointments etc.

Can a colour or texture be added to idicate the status?

About which view are you speaking? Day? Week? Month? Some table view?
What version of Outlook?

In any of the table views, you can add the "Show time as" column to the header
bar using Field Chooser. You can create a new Day/Week/Month views that add
filters that show you only those meetings whose "Show time as" field is one of
the values. For "Out of Office", for example, click View>Arrange By>Current
View>Define Views. Select "Day/Week/Month" and click Copy. Give it a new
name like "Out of Office". Select the desired "Can be used on" value (I
usually select "All Calendar Folders") and click OK. Click Filter. Select
the Advanced tab. Click the Field drop-down, hover over "All Apppointment
fields", then click "Show time as". In the Values drop-down, choose,"Out of
Office". Click "Add to List", then OK, then OK again. Click "Apply View" if
you want to see the results right away. Click Close. Now you have a view
that will show you all appointments with the "Out of Office" show time as
value. You can do the same for the other values and switch between views.
You can move between the "Day", "Work Week", "Week" or "Month" views and the
filter will remain until you switch back to the original "Day/Week/Month"
view.
