outlook.exe and outllib.dll mismatch, any issue?

Hi all,

We had an incident where a customer told us he's using Outlook 2000,
but emails he sent to us had an x-mailer header field indicating
Outlook 2003. How is that possible? Has anyone encountered any issue?

This customer installed our Outlook plug-ins (one written in VB as COM
Add-in, and the other written in cpp as Exchange extension) and
reported intermittent crashes. The plug-ins indeed detected Outlook
2000. We're trying to figure out how to create such as a Outlook
mismatch configuration, no success.

He installed a trial version? I'd look at renaming it if it is found to be
wrong and running a detect and repair to replace it. Then apply all required
Service Packs again.
