outlook.exe multiple instances in task manager

Hi,

I continually have multiple instances of outlook.exe running in task
manager.

I have shut down programs that I think may be accessing Outlook (2003 on XP
pro) but I still have this happen. Sometimes after my machine has been
running awhile and I have opened and closed Outlook several times during the
day, 6 exe's can be running.

Any way to fix this? Anyone experienced this?

Are you verifying when you close Outlook that outlook.exe is no longer
running in the processes? There could be an Add In holding it open, for
example if you have a handheld that synchs with Outlook.
