I have a computer wher multiple sessions of outlook.exe appear as the process
running in task manager, but outlook doesn't open. What could be the problem?

Most likely an add-in but hard to say since you didn't provide any
information to work with.

Hi

I am having the exact same problem with Outlook 2007, but did not have the
problem in Outlook 2003 (I switched a week ago).

If I open Outlook 2007 and closes it again BEFORE it gets a chance to
recieve mails, it will close the outlook.exe in the task bar.

If I close Outlook AFTER having recieved or send any mails, Outlook closes
down but the outlook.exe stays in task list, blocking Outlook in being opend
again. Outlook will not open untill the old outlook.exe is manually
terminiated.

I really really hope someone knows why. It seems like a ton of people is
having this problem.

I have no Add-ins or things like that.

I actually solved my problem (at least is seems so so far)

What I did was to edit the Send & Recieve rules to NOT recieve any RSS
feeds. Now Outlooks closes down fully.

I also disabled all COM addons, but they did not seem to be the problem.
