"OUTLOOK EXPRESS 6.0" FAILS TO OPEN WORD 2000 ATTACHMENTS

I have just upgraded my Internet Eplorer and Outlook Express from 5.5 to 6.0
using the MICROSOFT UPDATE SITE.

Things worked just fine before.

Now Outlook Epress 6.0 will not open WORD attachments.
It opens PDF File attachments just fine.

How do I fix this problem ??

Dr. H.Mak

On the Security tab of Tools | Options in OE, you can clear the check box
for "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially
contain a virus." I would not advise clearing this box if it applied only to
opening attachments, since it is recommended that you save them to the HD
first rather than open them directly, but since this also prevents even
saving them, it is necessary to change this setting if you want to save Word
document attachments.

THANKS:

Yes Suzanne S. Barnhill is right and the "FIX WORKS" and the ATTACHED MAIL
FILES OPEN. I do not understand why this issue did not effect PDF
Attachments??
It effected WORD and WORKS attachments.

PDF files cannot contain macro viruses and consequently aren't regarded as
risky.
