Outlook Express and Attachments

Steve Bott

I'm so used to using Outlook (not Express) at work and therefore expected
that when I opened up an attachment in Express, updated it and clicked save,
then it would be saved. And that I could then open up the attachment and the
changes be there - WRONG! I know I could have done a 'save as' to mt PC but I
didn't think that I needed to.

Does anyone know if the updated file will be hidden somewhere as I can't
find it - or is it simply that it doesn't work like that in Express and the
4hrs work that I did in Excel is now lost.

I've searched for the file name, *.xls, in the temp Internet files and
nothing, files update today etc. It just seems so odd that it kept letting me
save the file, but doesn't seem to have actually saved it anywhere.

Any help would be appreciated.

I would assume that it would create the file in the Temp folder. However, since I'm not familiar with the way OE behaves in this area, I would suggest you post this question in an Outlook Express newsgroup.
