Outlook Express continues to get mail when Outlook is default.

I used Outlook Express as default for mail while I was going to school and
that was the requirement. I am now done with school and want to use Outlook
as my default mail manager. I have set it per microsoft help but Outlook
Express continues to receive mail. How do I stop using Outlook expres and
only use Outlook?

Remove the configured account from OE and stop using it.

Won't this remove it from the computer so it is not available to Outlook
either? Can I just remove it from Outlook Express and it will stay in Outlook?
