Outlook Express doesn't work properly after install Office 2003

I upgraded from Office 2000 to Office 2003. Now Outlook Express can't open
any messages, although I can view them in the preview pane, and I can't open
the address book. Outlook Express says to re-install the program. How do I do
that without deleting the inbox and address book? Is there an easy fix to
this?
