Outlook Express e-mail freeze

I have recieved e-mail from this reciepient MANY times in the past with no
issues, however he sent me a message with an attachment, and now, all I have
to do is click on it, and Outlook Express locks up. I can go to task manager
and close it down, and then open O.E. again and use it fine, except if I
click on that one e-mail. I have tried deleting it, and again, it locks up. I
highlighted a group of e-mails hoping to delete the group and then restore
the good messages, but when I click delete (or move to folder) it locks up my
entire system and only a hard reboot brings it back.

Is there a way to get to that individual message through Windows explorer
and delete it that way, or am I stuck with wiping out my inbox and then
re-loading? I'd really like to avoid this if possible.

I have been having a very similiar problem since February of this year. My
Outlook Express locks up at random when I click onto a link on the body of
any message. It may work for days with no trouble and then it will lock up
every time I use it. Reboot is the only thing that corrects the problem---for
a little while. I have tried to contact Microsoft and they want $60.00 and
hour to tell me how to fix. They told me at first it was my Anti-virus
program. I contacted Norton and they tried some things but nothing helped.
The problem started after I di a bunch of Microsoft Updates.

Try posting this in an Outlook Express news group - this is not one of them.
Outlook is a part of Microsoft Office and is what this group supports.
Outlook Express is a part of Internet Explorer and has its own news groups.
