Outlook Express e mail transfer

I need to reformat my hard drive. I will be reloading
Internet Explorer 6.0 as my browser onto my system (Windows
98) along with Outlook Express and need instructions on how
to save my Inbox mail in Outlook Express and transfer it
back onto my hard drive after reformatting it. I have
tried this in the past unsuccessfully. Any help would be
greatly appreciated. Thanks............
