Outlook Express Email

My SONY laptop had a new hard drive installed and I had to download my
programs from MICROSOFT OFFICE XP STANDARD from scratch. All is OK except
for this:

I cannot send or receive emails from OUTLOOK EXPRESS because I need to
"name" its server correctly. When I open EXPRESS this is the message:

"The host 'windows internet explorer' could not be found. Please verify that
you have entered the server name correctly. Account: 'windows internet
explorer', Server: 'windows internet explorer', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110,
Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11004, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D"

Can someone advise how to correct this?

Thank you.

Have you actually tried LOOKING in the Options section of OE or did you just
blast this off without thinking?

There is no "express" in the name of this newsgroup. Outlook and
Outlook Express are not the same product nor is one a lite version of
the other, and more than Word and WordPerfect are related. Outlook
EXPRESS has its own newsgroups. Post in one of those for question
regarding Outlook EXPRESS.

You really think a server host is named "windows internet explorer"?
Hell, that's a web browser client. It's not even a proper IP name for
a host. You haven't even bothered investigating the settings in the
e-mail account that you defined in Outlook Express, have you? Your
*unnamed* e-mail provider probably has help web pages that guide you
step-by-step on how to configure your e-mail client to use their
service. Go look, or call them (provided that support is included
with whatever *unnamed* e-mail provider that you use).
