Outlook Express Identities Switch Freezes Outlook Express

When I Switch from one Outlook Express (version 2006) Identity to another the
program sometimes freezes as it passes through the desktop screen. I cannot
then reopen Outlook Express without shutting down the computer and starting
over. When I start over and open Outlook Express, it opens to the Identity I
was trying to switch to.

Sometimes this happens, other times Outlook Express slides easily through
the desktop and reopens into the new identity requested.

Does anyone know how I can get it to stop freezing at the desktop and
requiring a shut-down and turn back on of the whole computer?

97/98/2000/2002/2003 from the Office suite of products. Outlook
Express is actually a separate program despite the similar name.

For help with your OE questions, try an OE newsgroup such as
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress (for OE 6), or
an OE help website such as http://insideOE.tomsterdam.com. If you're
accessing the Microsoft newsgroups through the MS Product Support
Services "Community Newsgroups" web interface, click
http://communities.microsoft.com/newsgroups/default.asp?icp=InternetExplorer
to get to the Internet Explorer groups, then click the plus sign next to
your version of IE to see the link to the Outlook Express group for that
version number. Good luck!

Thanks Gordon - I tried the tomsterdam link and found out I had to download
service pac 2 before I could upgrade my windows to maybe solve the problem
(but also found out that servce pac 2 may cause more problems than it solves;
so will not do anything; will just put up with my problem as it is and turn
computer off between identities on Outlook Express. That's better than
having my whole computer not working at all. .....really afraid of
"downloads" that might do things I don't understand to my computer.
