Outlook Express Not Responding Problems

Not sure if this is the correct posting area for Outlook Express (OE) ? Could
not find just OE in MS list of products.

Whenever I start up OE the product seems to lock up once all my mail is
downloaded and if I click several times I see a "Not Responding " message on
the Top line of my screen along side the Outlook Express program name. I have
to wait for a period of time and then the message disapears and the program
allows me to do what I want to do. It may do this freeze several times at the
beginning an then it seems to free up and continue working ok for the rest of
my session on OE.

Do I need to do a Windows XP Repair Restore to get IE and OE back fresh as a
program ? Or can I download just OE somewhere and re-install it into my
operating system ? If so will this mean I will lose all of the current saved
emails and settings I have in the current OE ?

Someone told me that both IE and OE are internal to the XP operating system
and that was why I would need a XP Repair Restore. In other words IE and OE
are not separate programs independent from XP operating. Is this correct ?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you,
PJM

As you are using the web interface and not a news reader, look under
Internet Explorer for all the OE groups......
