Outlook Express Not Responding

I tried posting my question 2 times today and when I get back to this forum I
cannot find mt posted question. If someone is moving my Post or removing it I
would at least like the courtesy of whoever is to let me know and why.

I will try to post my question again.

Whenever I start up Outlook Express and when all my email is downloaded and
when I click on an email to open it up OE freezes and I get a Not Responding
message at the top of the screen - if I wait a few minutes the system
unfreezes and I can then open email - this may happen several times until I
can then use OE the rest of the session without a problem.

Any ideas what might be causing this problem ?

Thank you,
PJ

You have already posted twice before, and both times you have received a
reply. Nobody is removing your posts; they are still there...

Stop using the webnews-for-dummies interface to newsgroups. Use a real
NNTP client instead, like Outlook Express, Thunderbird, Forte Agent,
Xnews, or whatever suits your fancy. Apparently you don't know how to
search through the webnews-for-dummies interface or it is screwed up.
Use a real NNTP client to connect to msnews.microsoft.com (which
Microsoft provides for free) or use your own ISP's newsgroups server, if
you prefer.

Whenever I start up Outlook Express ...

As you have been told in your other posts, note the name of THIS
newsgroup. It is for Outlook. It is not for Outlook Express. They are
different programs. They are not siblings of each other. Post over in
the OE newsgroup regarding questions on OE.

But just a couple of suggestions regarding OE:
- Have you compacted your message store yet?
- Have you tried disabling the e-mail scanner in your anti-virus
software?
- If you have anti-spam software installed, have you tried temporarily
disabling it?
- Although the max size for .dbx files is 2GB, slowdown occurs after
just 100MB. Don't be storing large number of items or e-mails with huge
attachments in your .dbx files. Delete the old crap, save the
attachments and delete from the e-mail (if you still want to keep the
message), and compact.

Of course not because Outlook Express isn't part of Office. It's part of
Internet Explorer.

No-one moderatest this forum, so take the paranoia hat off.

No-one answered because this forum is for Outlook, not Outlook Express.
They are different programs with annoyingly similar names.
