Outlook Express/Outlook

Hi,
Not sure this is the right group - please forgive. Something went awry
in my OE6. I was able to export all mail and folders to MSOutlook. I
can NOT access email in either place. In OE, there seem to be system
problems, in Outlook I get a usual 'can't find server' message. I do
not have a password so when I try to log-in to Outlook, it won't work
- it asks for a password. So whether I bypass that or enter one of my
'regular' passwords - nada.
I also can NOT access my address book in OE6 to export it, copy it,
etc.
Thanks for any guidance!

About MS Outlook:
try to do:
start | run | write "outlook /profiles"
and try to create your new profile.
You can also try other switches, some of them are helpful - google for
"switches for outlook"
Try also to find .pst file and make sure, that you have enough rights to
open it in read/write mode.
Another point of checking is also control panel | email (or post, I don't
know how this icon is called in english windows)

about OE6:
try to run:
Start | run | "wab" - this should run your addressbook software. If you will
succeed to start it, but will not find any contacts, find files *.wab,
search by date and import it using "wab" software.
find also *.dbx files and secure them - there are your old emails from OE.
Also make sure, that you have enough rights to open it.
If you will have bigger problems, you can copy *.wab and *.dbx files to
other computer and there "convert" it to pst file, using embedded MS Outlook
migration tools.

Regards
Michal
