Outlook Express Question

I could not find a specific Outlook Express Newsgroup

I am storing my job search emails in an Outlook folder called Keep.

If I store a backup copy of the Keep.dbx, can that be restored and the
emails printed?
(Even if the other .dbx files got corrupted.)

Thanks,
Andy

No. There may be third party programs to open .dbx files however. The .dbx
format is reputed to be especially vulnerable to corruption, so you might
think of using another email client...

Since I have OE on computers in 2 different homes, I sometimes copy one dbx
file to the other. It doesn't always work but eventually I get it. It is
described on
http://help.lockergnome.com/windows2/dbx-file-transfer-computer--ftopict478355.html
which says (and I quote Bruce Hagen's page):

If you really only want to save the one dbx file, copy it to CD. Put the CD
in the new machine and save the dbx file to the Desktop. Right click on the
dbx file and clear the Read Only attribute and then follow these steps to
get the folder into OE.

Open OE and create a folder with the *exact* same name as the one on your
desktop (my NOTE - leave off the dbx extension). Open the new folder and
then close OE. Go to Windows Explorer and locate the Message Store folder
for your OE identity, but don't open it. Click Desktop and drag the file
from the Desktop to the OE store folder.
Prompt - "Do you want to overwrite......."? Click Yes.
