I recently had to reinstall XP "Home Edition" from scratch, as well as my
normal applications.
After reinstalling XP "Home Edition", Microsoft Office 2007 "Enterprise" and
other unrelated apps, I noticed that OUTLOOK EXPRESS was making terrible
errors when spell checking my emails. It was NOT correcting the spelling
with an English language dictionary that came with MS office 2007. It was
indeed doing the spell checking with a "French" dictionary instead.
I checked all settings in Outlook Express and also in MS Word and could not
find anything wrong, or anything that may have cause the problem. I did
however find some conversion setting "either FRENCH to ENGLISH" or "
ENGLISH to FRENCH". I don't recall exactly what they were but they did not
help my problem.
To resolve my problem, I "UNINSTALLED OUTLOOK EXPRESS", " UNINSTALLED MS
OFFICE 2007", Then I reinstalled "OUTLOOK EXPRESS" and then "INSTALLED MS
OFFICE 2003" as I did not want to go through that nonsense again.
The problem is resolved, thank god. I would like to find out what caused the
problem but I'll never find out what cause it.
This was just FYI, in case you run across it too. Be Careful people !!!
