I have been using outlook express 6 for the past couple of months and at
least its been very touchy at times but not consistently. I used to get the
mysterious Unknown Error Message but it stopped for quite a while and then I
changed my ip address on my desktop to a static ip and it started to happen
again very frequently. I compacted all the folders, I registered it in the
registry, and I re registered a collection of DLL's all per a support article
on the outlook express site through microsoft. It was still happening so I
deleted the hotmail account that was tied to outlook express and rebuilt
through the wizard. It seemed that it runs fine when IE is actually open and
running and otherwise but that is almost what I would consider a "ghost".
Today I ahve it working pretty consistently but also have IE open. I went to
look at the folders under the Hotmail account and the strangest folder just
appeared. It is entitled ".!!OIM". I've looked everywhere to find out why
this is where it came from and so on. Well I thought i would post this here
and see if anyone has any clue what is going on with my posessed Outlook
Express.
Thanks
