Outlook Express to Outlook 2003

I'm trying to move my address book and e-mail from my old
computer(Win98) that has outlook express 5.0 to my new
computer(XP) that has Outlook 2003.I copied the
application data folder from the old computer to the new.
I haven't been sucessful importing the info. I have
outlook 2000 on the old computer but I haven't used it for
mail. Should I import or export the mail and address book
to Outlook 2000 first then import or export to Outlook
2003 on the new computer?
