Outlook Express to Outlook 2003

I recently purchased a new PC w/ XP: MC and Office 2003. I have an old Win98
PC w/ Outlook Express. I need to transfer all my email from the old PC to my
new one.
When I try to export from Outlook Express, I get a message stating "The
export could not be performed. An error has occurred while initiallizing
MAPI."
I tried just dragging and dropping the emails from Outlook Express onto a
USB flash drive and dropping them into Outlook 2003, but that only creates a
new email with all the files as attachments.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You need to backup your Outlook Express files/data then restore this to the
new machine and then from Outlook Express export them to Outlook, for
backing up and restoring Outlook Express check out
