outlook express

The following error message appears when I try to log onto to outlook express:

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Account: 'pop.freeserve.co.uk', Server: 'pop.freeserve.co.uk',
Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '+OK Message follows', Port: 110,
Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

If anyone can help me rectify this problem please explain in plain english
as I am not totally computer literate

Outlook Express is family of Internet Explorer and Outlook of the Office
family.
