Your hunch was correct -- Outlook Express has its own groups
(It's
not a part of the Office suite). Via the web, you can find them here:
http://communities.microsoft.com/newsgroups/default.asp?icp=InternetExplorer
When you get to that page, click the plus sign next to your version of
Internet Explorer on the left, and you will then see a link to the
corresponding version of Outlook Express.
To answer this question in particular -- OE downloads only headers by
default, if you're reading messages online. You'd have to click on the
header to download the message if the preview pane is enabled, or
double-click the header if you're not using the preview pane. If you're
looking to download only headers for offline use, you'll need to specify
that when setting up your offline synchronization (look at OE's Help
menu for instructions).
