Error: "OE removed access to the following unsafe attachments in your mail"
when opening email
Situation:
After installing Norton AntiVirus (NAV), you notice that whenever you
receive email with an attachment, you see the message "OE removed access to
the following unsafe attachments in your mail." You cannot open the
attachment.

Solution:
This message is generated when a security option in Outlook Express (OE) 6.0
has been enabled. That option denies access to email attachments that could
be malicious. The message is not caused by NAV Email Scanning.

To uncheck the security option in OE

1.. Open OE 6.0.
2.. Click Tools, point to Options, and then click the Security tab.
3.. Uncheck "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could
potentially be a virus."
4.. Click OK.
