Hello. Got a Dell P4 workstation on an SBS 2000 network running Exchange
2000 Server. Workstation has Office XP. This morning the user tried to
open her Outlook 2002 as usual and received the following message: "No
profiles have been created. To create a new profile, use the Mail icon in
the control panel. Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Unable to open the
Outlook window. The server is not available. Contact your administrator if
the problem persists."
But in Mail properties there IS a profile and all the information is
correct. The server name and user name resolve such that they are
underlined. So here's what we've tried so far:
1. Removed the Exchange Server profile, rebooted, recreated the profile.
Still got error message.
2. Removed profile. Rebooted. Reinstalled Office XP. Recreated profile.
Still got error message.
3. Completely uninstalled Office XP. Rebooted. Installed Office XP and
SP1 from scratch. Recreated profile. Still got error message.
The only way the user is able to get to her Exchange mailbox at this point
is through OWA.
Any help would be appreciated.
