Outlook for Mac to eliminate the Usenet reader?

The Newsreader in Entourage is limited, but its much better than a web based
interface. In recent days MS has decided to abandon Newsgroups as the new
Windows 7 does not have any groups, but web boards instead. So my gut
feeling is that the new version of Outlook for the Mac will not include a
Usenet, especially since Outlook for Windows does not have a Newsgroup
reader.

Any thoughts?

Nothing has been announced, but the news reader in Entourage 2008 has
hardly been improved in the past couple of versions of Entourage. Take
that for what you will.

Keep in mind that anything is just speculation.

Outlook on Windows does not have news reader but the OS comes with Windows
Mail that has a news reader. It is interested in knowing that Windows 7 is
switched to web boards instead. That is the reason why Microsoft news
groups do not have Windows 7.

I hope you are right.

They switched and may do that on the Mac as well. But regardless there are
lots of better newsreaders out there than Entourage. However none are
integrated into your email. Entourage does the basics and that's enough for
me.
