Outlook freeze when doing a send to as attachment in Word

The problem that I have an some collegue have as well is that in Outlook 2003
(no service pack installed) is that when from Word 2003 we do a send to...
recipient as attachment. The window in Outlook comes up and we can send but
the window does not close, it stays open and frozen. Cannot locate any
indication over the internet of similar problems, but a few systems in our
network have that issue. Have someone seen this problem. We cannot upgrade to
SP1 yet because of the network configuration.
