Client Environment: Windows XP Pro SP1 with all service packs. Office
2000 without Outlook 2000, all patched. Outlook 2003, fully patched,
running in cached mode. Symantec AntiVirus 9.0.
Network Environment: Windows Small Business Server 2003, all patches
(no SP1). Symantec AntiVirus 9.0. Client mailbox is around 220MB in
size. Symantec is setup to not scan the appropriate exchange
directories per article on MS support site.
When sending new email, forwarding email, or replying to email on the
client PC, Outlook "freezes" with a white screen for 30 seconds to one
minute. After that time normal operation resumes. All other
applications that are open are responsive while Outlook is frozen.
This problem started occuring about 3 weeks ago. There aren't any
error messages on the client PC or the server. Nothing had been
changed on the client (as far as I know) or server side (for sure)
before this error started occurring.
Does anyone have any ideas on what might be causing this behaviour?
