Outlook freezes / hangs

E

Elie

Outlook is giving me a hard time. It freezes when receiving emails greater
than 1.5mb. The computer freezes when I try to uninstall Office or try and
perform any maintenance task. I have removed all anti-virus and related
products and I still have the same problems. The only way to recover is to
re-boot the computer. I have tried safe mode but it seems that Outlook
freezes anyway.

Anybody out there have any ideas??

Are you connected to an exchange server or are you using POP? How big
is your mail file?

It is connected to POP3 mail and the .pst file is less than 25mb. The mail
message I am trying to receive is 2mb but it is the only computer on the
network with this problem.

Run the program scanpst.exe. You can find it on your c drive, just
search for it. Make sure outlook is closed and not accessing the PST
file. Run the progam against any pst's outlook is using untill you get
no errors found. It may take 2, 3, 4, times.
