Outlook Freezes up

I am having a problem with Outook freezing up.
It is open and is down at the bottom of my task bar.
I have to go through task manager to close it and reopen
it. What could be causing this.

Windows XP PRO
Office XP Pro
512 Memory
1.8 GHz Dell computer
