Outlook freezes when replying to email

Hi all

I am using OL 2007 under Vista Business SP1. When I first open OL if I open
an email and attempt to reply to it, or I create a new message to send, OL
goes into "Not Responding" mode and I have to close the program through task
manager then restart OL before I can do anything with it.

This is happening nearly every time I use OL. It does not appear to
discriminate between action (send or reply). I have run scanpst as advised
some time ago but this does not appear to fix anything.

This does not seem to happen if I've had OL open for a while, but it has
happened when I am just reading a received email without me trying to reply
to it. (This is not as regular as respond/send)

Any suggestions?
