Outlook freezes

My work computer was upgraded from XP to Vista and our tech support
acknowledged some drivers couldn't be loaded. I have 40 pst files for
managing all my work and my tech support says that my Outlook is freezing
because I have so many .pst files. Is this a true statement and if this is
true when will Microsoft release upgrades to fix this problem?

What version of Outlook? Are the PSTs local on your hard drive? I think
Outlook should be able to handle 40 PSTs. If there is a limitation, I'm more
inclined to attribute it to the WIndows file system that Outlook itself.
