I have lost a couple of things in outlook.
I tried to put the News command onto the View menu. My finger slipped off
the mouse button while dragging and I lost the command altogether. It
disappeared from the organise dialog box and never appeared on the view
menu. It seems to be lost in cyberspace as no amount of repairing or
reinstalling Outlook from the Office disk Setup files will bring it back. I
know I can go to newsgroups from Outlook Express but each time I open OE, it
downloads my mail which I do not want to do. I prefer the elegance of news
in Outlook. Can I repair this damage caused by my "Finger trouble".
I have also lost the "Day/week/month view with auto preview" and
"Day/week/month" views. Outlook now steadfastly refuses to show these
views - it opens with a single day view and stays there until I select
multiple weeks in the little calendar in the navigation pane to the left of
the screen. Selecting the views from the drop-down menu has no effect. This
problem is the result of my innate curiosity. I saw a little down arrow
followed by 3 dots in the "Day/week/month View with Auto Preview" on Mothers
Day, 8 May 2005, and never having seen it before I clicked on it expecting a
dialog box. I got a single day view and have not been able to get the other
views since. The 8 May date coincides with the first day of a 3 week long
entry for my holidays.
Any advice would be appreciated.
