Outlook funny with Send/Receive

I have a problem with Microsoft Outlook 2003 SP1. When I try to send
or receive I get the error 0x80070005
"Don't have appropriate permission".

Up to 2 weekes ago evrything worked fine. I have a dial up internet
connection and I set up my Exchange Server connection
with "Manually controlled connection" and "Work offline and use
dial-up networking" selected. This used to work and I used to
just press Send/Receive on the toolbar to get my mail.

The above method stopped working and I would get the error described
above. I discovered a wierd thing!!!! If I set up my Exchange Server
connection to "Automatically detect connection state" and while online
shut down and then restarted Outlook it would tranfer my mail as
normal all by itself. If I then pressed Send/Receive I would get the
error message and sometimes also it would tell that the Exchange
Server
was unavailable. Starange...

Any ideas on a fix...

Thanks

One of the people in my office is getting the same response and it began
around the same time, but with Outlook 2000.

It seemed to go away, but it sporadically reappears. We haven't a clue why.
And it's not happening with any of the other pc's or laptops.

Hi,

I managed to fix my own problem :)

Where you enter your exchange server name I used to just type in the
server name eg. XXXXX. To get it to work correctly I had to type in
the following:
XXXXX.DOMAIN.CO.ZA. I now can send/receive mail in the off line mode
as I used to.
