Outlook's group by conversation options do not make very efficient use of
screen real estate and require more clicks then necessary. Outlook Express
got it right: When grouping by conversation, don't create a heading for each
message. Just put a drop down box beside the top message if there are more
than one.
Outlook creates a group even if there is only one message forcing you to
open it just to see that one message. Also, even when there's more than one
message, you have to open the group to see who and when the last one was
written.
Outlook is really great,but this is such an obvious short coming - the new
group by conversation feature is even worse, because there's no way to
collapse everything, so you end up with two lines for each single message.
