Outlook Hangs of Exit After Downgrade

I downgraded a user from Outlook 2003 to Outlook 2000.
Outlook is connected to an Exchange 5.5 server. Now
everything appears to work fine in Outlook 2000 but when
the user exits Oulook appear to exit but it just hangs
and the process never ends. The user was a laptop user
and they did synchronize their files.
