Outlook hangs on save of synchronization log

Hello all.

The pc runs Outlook 2000 SR-1.
The server is Exchange 2000 SP3+.

We normally run in offline mode and synchronize to an
OST. A growing number of our users are experiencing an
issue when performing a synchronization. The synch runs
as it should, but when saving to the synchronization log -
the outlook client hangs. We have had users leave their
machines for a couple of hours when experiencing the error-
but Outlook stays in the hung state.

Has anyone out there see Outlook hanging before while
writing to the synch log?
