Outlook hangs when Word is the E-mail editor

I am having a problem wiht Outlook, when I use Word as my
e-mail editor and then go to compose a message, all I see
is an hourglass. Also, this happens if I forward or reply
to messages. I am running Windows XP with Office XP SP1.
Microsoft's site was not very helpfull, has anyone seen
this as well?

Try renaming the normal.dot file to normal.old. Startup Word and then try
starting Outlook and create a new message. The normal.dot file is the base
for every newly created doc (it holds default Fonts and stuff like that)

The default location is C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\APPLICATION
DATA\Microsoft\Templates (Templates folder may have been translated
corresponding the language of your Office)
