Outlook Hangs with Open dialog

Whenever I want to add an attachment and try to navigate the open dialog
hangs for about 1 minute.
Getting very frustrating. Please help...
I have Outlook 2003 (11.8010.6568 sp2)

I'm having the same problem (file save as or open dialog freezes) with all
Office 2003 applications. Did you ever solve this problem?

Are you accessing a network drive? That is known to cause that, the Office
dialog is nowhere as fast in those cases as the Windows dialog. Don't ask me
why the Windows dialog isn't used, no one has the answer to that one.
