Outlook has become readonly

I don't know why but this morning outlook has become readonly.
it won't let me create any email's or add entey's to the calender, in fact
the "NEW" button is greyed out.

It fails to sync with my PDA (as in the new appointments won't go into the
main database).

I have no idea what has happened.

Can anyone help ?

What type of account? What version of Outlook? How large is the PST, if
you're using one?

Does the rest of Office still function? IS this a trial version that you
have let expire? Have you activated Office?
