Outlook Help In Computer Language

When I click on Help, or F1, in Outlook, a window appears with the table of
contents listed in English on the left, but computer language in the reading
pane. If I type something in Search, it also appears in computer language in
the reading pane. However, if I click on one of the subjects in the table of
contents, I receive a normal description.

This program came preinstalled on my Dell computer which I purchased last
October. I contacted Dell in January, and again last week. They couldn't
tell me how to resolve it in January, suggesting that I contact Microsoft,
and the Dell tech tried to help me last week, but when she said that I might
lose all of the contacts I had input, I resisted following her advice.

Could you please clarify what you mean by "computer language"?
Also, while you're at it, what is your version of Outlook?

That looks like xml source code; not sure why it is not rendering
properly. Is that something that started recently, or did it always
behave that way?

Also what version of Windows and Internet Explorer do you use?

It has always behaved that way, from the first time I opened Outlook on my
brand new computer.

I have Windows Vista Ultimate, Home Edition. Internet Explorer v.
7.0.6000.16643

Can you check the file association of the XML extension (Windows
Explorer | Tools | Folder Options | tab File Types)? Can you try to
change 'Opens With' to Internet Explorer?

I sure tried to check the file association, but I couldn't find the string.
I started with IE Tools, and there was no listing for Folder Options. Not
even in Internet Options. Then I typed Windows Explorer in the Search
window. Found Windows Explorer but no Tools or Folder Options. I looked in
Control Panel but couldn't find anything related in there either. I typed
Folder Options in Search, was rewarded with a Folder Options window, but no
tab File Types or Opens With. Another hint please?

OK, I have to admit that I don't know Vista. But in all previous
Windows versions, Windows Explorer could be started either from
Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> Windows Explorer
- or -
Start -> Run -> explorer.exe [Enter]

You're welcome. The important thing is that you change the file
association of the XML file type to Internet Explorer.
