Outlook Icon upgrade?

OK I know this is a silly question, but it's personally
distressing to me MS sent me Office 2K3. Sweet
package by the way! But when I went through the upgrade
process everything went fine except for one minor
annoyance. The Outlook icon on my desktop wasn't
upgraded. It's the 2K style icon. Everytwhere else
Outlook's icon was updated. All the other office
component's icons on the desktop were updated, although
they are traditional shortcuts.

Can someone explain how to update this icon?

delete the icon and go to the start button that points to
outlook. right click and send to desktop.

Ok, good suggestion, but Now I'm left with a standard
shortcut. IE if you right click and go to properties, you
get shortcut properties, not outlook properties. Before
when i had the shortcut with no little arrow I could get
right into the outlook setup.

So the Icon is right now, but how do I get back the
functionality?

Try running Detect and Repair and select the option to reinstall your Office
shortcuts.

If you haven't already followed Milly's advice, you might see if you can use
these instructions.

281085 - OL2002: How to Restore the Outlook Icon to Your Desktop:

Where it refers to Office 10.0, use 11.0 and try the same steps, if there's
a registry value of W2kDesktopShortcutAsIs.

Export any registry keys before you delete them, so you can restore them if
there's a problem.

I followed the article but unfortunately the old Office 2K
Outlook Icon came back. no biggie. Just a minor
annoyance is all Thanks for the suggestions guys. if
I ever find a solution, I'll be sure to post up.
