We are using Outlook 2007 on Windows XP SP2 workstations. We placed an icon
on the desktop for Outlook by adding the following reg key:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace\{00020D75-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}.
This worked great for several months, but recently the icon shows up with no
picture (only a white square), no text description and nothing happens when
clicked. This began about a week ago and we cannot attribute to any other
changes in group policy.
If I delete the key, it will remove the icon and if I add it back the same
problem returns. This has not affected all users, only a portion. I suspect
it may be related to permissions, if an admin user logs in to the same
machine the icon appears normally.
Any advice is appreciated.
